Organizing Group Headshots Can Be Challenging

Scheduling Conflicts

  • Employees have different availability, meetings, and deadlines.

  • Some may work remotely or be traveling.

Getting Employee Buy-In

  • Some people don’t like being photographed and may resist participation.

  • Others may forget or not take it seriously.

Finding the Right Photographer

  • Not all photographers specialize in corporate headshots.

  • You need consistency in lighting and style across all photos.

Securing a Suitable Location

  • You need a space with enough room for lighting and equipment.

  • The location should be quiet and distraction-free.

Managing Day-Of Logistics

  • People running late or missing their slots.

  • Last-minute wardrobe or grooming issues.

Delivering and Using the Headshots

  • Employees may not know where to find their photos.

  • Different teams may have different format needs.

I’m Cameron.
Your Headshot Coach.

I’ve been behind the camera for over a decade, with a wide portfolio to show, but I’ve been focusing on headshots for the past 5 years.

Corporate headshot days are hectic. The work doesn’t stop, some employees may not want or need new photos, you might even have colleagues in from out of town! Let the photos be at least one thing you don’t have to worry about.

It’s a privilege for a company to offer its employees headshots, and I do my best to communicate that to each person I come in contact with. Recently I had a guy politely let me know he wasn’t going to get his taken, even though he was on the schedule. No problem, but I convinced him to give me 30 seconds and see how it goes. I took a quick shot just as he walked in, then I coached him up and took another… When he saw the before and after he yelled “Holy Shit!” and from that point he said he was in, he’d do whatever I asked to get the shot. The whole session only lasted about 3 minutes, but he left excited about his new headshot!

Buffer Time

All corporate headshot days have a bit of buffer time built in throughout the day. If someone misses their window, or gets added late, that’s okay! We’ll squeeze them in when we get a little gap.

Relaxing Session

Hardly anyone is excited to get in front of a camera. That shows in images. However, I have some tips and tricks to help calm those nerves and get genuine expressions.
